Precautions for the selection of chemical pumps

Time: 2023-03-08

Chemical centrifugal pumps rely on centrifugal principles to pump liquid materials. Chemical pumps are made of special materials and are suitable for pumping corrosive liquids from bottles, drums, tanks, pools or other containers. Chemical pumps are widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy, light industry, synthetic fiber, environmental protection, food, medicine and other departments.

Chemical pumps have the advantages of stable and reliable performance, good sealing performance, beautiful appearance, and convenient operation and maintenance. It plays an important role in improving output and quality, reducing running, leaking, dripping, and leaking, avoiding pollution, and improving the environment. Chemical pumps are suitable for chemical, petroleum, metallurgy, power station, food, pharmaceutical, synthetic fiber and other departments to ensure various temperatures of corrosive media or media with high physical and chemical properties.

Chemical pumps are used to pump clean water, which contains abrasive substances, substances harmful to ordinary pump body data, suspended solids, and non-explosive substances corrosive to stainless steel materials; chemical pumps are also widely used for water supply; for heating and air conditioning , refrigeration and circulation systems; chemical pumps for civil and industrial use.

For fire protection; for irrigation; daily use and civil, industrial, gardening and irrigation purposes; for rainwater storage projects; used in places requiring low noise; chemical pumps are used for pressurization, suitable for conveying corrosive, explosive, Granular water or liquid; products suitable for pipe network booster chemical pumps mainly include: various glass fiber chemical pumps, corrosion-resistant plastic pumps, high-temperature resistant chemical pumps, standardized chemical process pumps, magnetic drive pumps, etc.

Three aspects should be paid attention to in the correct selection of chemical pumps: The key to material selection Acetic acid is one of the most corrosive substances in organic acids. In general, steel is severely corroded in all concentrations and temperatures of acetic acid. Stainless steel is an excellent acetic acid resistant material. Molybdenum-containing stainless steel chemical pumps can also be used in high temperature and dilute acetic acid vapor.

For high-temperature and high-concentration acetic acid or other corrosive media, high-alloy stainless steel chemical pumps and fluoroplastic pumps can be used. Alkali (sodium hydroxide) steel is widely used in sodium hydroxide solution with a concentration of 30% below 80°C, and many factories still use ordinary steel when the temperature is below 100°C and 75%. Although the corrosion increases, the economy is good.

In general, stainless steel has no significant advantage over cast iron in terms of corrosion resistance to lye. Only a small amount of iron is allowed in the medium, so stainless steel is not recommended. Titanium and titanium alloys or high-alloy stainless steel are mostly used in high-temperature lye. General cast iron chemical pumps can be used for normal temperature and low concentration lye, and various stainless steel pumps or fluoroplastic pumps can be used for special requirements.

Ammonia (ammonia hydroxide) The corrosion of most metals and nonmetals in liquid ammonia and ammonia (ammonia hydroxide) is very subtle, and only copper and copper alloys are not suitable for use. Most of the products are suitable for the delivery of ammonia and ammonia water. Generally, the corrosion rate of steel in sodium chloride solution, sea water, and salt water is not too high, so paint is generally required for maintenance. The uniform corrosion rate of various stainless steels is also very low, but perhaps localized corrosion is caused by chloride ions. Generally, 316 stainless steel is better.
